Bhubaneswar: Direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Singapore and Bangkok are all set to start from tomorrow (June 3).
Reportedly, Indigo Airlines will operate the flight service twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
It is worth mentioning here that Bhubaneswar was directly connected to Dubai by air on May 15 with IndiGo’s Airbus-320 operating from the city thrice a week. These flights to Dubai, Singapore, and Bangkok are expected to boost Odisha tourism and open the gateway to south-east Asian countries.
Odisha is expected to greatly benefit from these direct international flights. A boost is expected in the tourism and business sector. Further, the Odisha government has agreed to bear the costs of unsold tickets, with the total ticket cost estimated to be around Rs 120 crore per year.
