ED Arrests Tamil Nadu Minister Balaji, Complains Chest pain & Hospitalized  

Chennai: DMK leader and member of Tamil Nadu cabinet V Senthil Balaji was taken into Custody by Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case. Balaji broke down and collapsed while being taken into custody by the ED officials in the wee hours of Wednesday. He was immediately shifted to a hospital.

ED officials raided the DMK leader’s premises on Tuesday. Later he was taken into custody for interrogation. Because of his health condition, he was taken to Omandurar government hospital in Chennai for a medical examination in the wee hours of Wednesday amid tight security.

While being brought to the hospital, Balaji was seen to be crying in pain.

DMK supporters gathered near the hospital to protest. DMK MP and lawyer NR Elango said Balaji had been shifted to the ICU.

Meanwhile, ED officials have not confirmed the arrest of Balaji officially.

DMK minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “Senthil Balaji is undergoing treatment. We will deal with it legally. We are not afraid of the threatening politics of the BJP-led central government.”
