Elderly Woman Trampled To Death By Wild Tusker In Angul

Angul: An elderly woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Jamunda village under the Bantala forest range in Odisha’s Angul district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Baidehi Pradhan (65), a resident of Jamunda village.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the elderly woman had gone to a nearby mango orchard when she came face to face with an elephant. The pachyderm attacked Baidehi and trampled her to death on the spot.

On being informed, local police and Forest Department personnel arrived at the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
