Bhubaneswar: An elderly woman was forced to walk barefoot for kilometres on end for collecting her pension. The incident happened in the Jharigaon block of Nabrangpur district of Odisha on April 17 (Monday).
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, sharing the video, hauled up State Bank of India (SBI) for the plight of the woman.
Finance Minister Sitharaman shared the video on Twitter and wrote: “Can see the manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) responding but yet wish Department of Financial Services (DFS) and the SBI to take cognisance of this and act humanely. Are they no bank Mitra?”
