Eminent Philosopher JN Mohanty Passes Away at 95

Bhubaneswar: Internationally renowned Odisha-born philosopher Prof Jitendra Nath Mohanty passed away at his residence in Philadelphia in the United States. He was 95 years old when he breathed his last.

Prof Mohanty was born in 1928. He did his matriculation from Ravenshaw Collegiate at Cuttack, BA from Presidency College and MA in Philosophy from Calcutta University.

He received his PhD from the University of Goettingen, Germany. He was an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Temple University, USA.

Prof Mohanty has written more than 20 books and numerous articles on various topics of philosophy. His autobiography ‘Between Two Worlds: East and West’, written in English, was published in 2002.
