Fake Currency Worth Rs. 1.96 Lakh Seized in Dhenkanal; One Arrested

Dhenkanal: Fake currency notes worth Rs 1.96 lakh were seized during a joint operation of the Special Task Force and the local police in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today. The joint team has also arrested one person allegedly involved in the circulation of counterfeit currency notes.

The accused was identified as Tushar Kumar Biswal of Kachrisahi village in Deogarh district. He was nabbed from Rathapada village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station.

According to reports, during the search, Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs 1,90,600 and other incriminating articles were seized from the residence of the accused.

A case was registered at Dhenkanal Sadar police station. Further investigation is underway.
