For 1.90 Crore Insurance Money, Man Kills his Wife in Staged Road Accident

Jaipur: To pocket Rs 1.90 crore worth of insurance money, a man from Rajasthan’s Jaipur staged an accident in which his wife was killed. The arrested accused Mahesh Chand hired a criminal for this. The hired history-sheeter hit his car to the bike on which Mahesh’s wife traveled along with her cousin.

The incident occurred on October 5. Initially, it was thought to be an accident. But deeper investigation revealed the conspiracy. A few days back Jaipur police arrested five persons in relation to the case.

Only four months before this murder, Chand had got his wife insured for Rs 1.90 crore. He was having regular fights and quarrels with his wife Shalu. In 2019 Shalu filed a dowry harassment case against Chand, for which he was arrested and had to spend some days in jail.

Chand had promised to pay Rs 10 lakh to the hired history-sheeter Mukesh Rathore to stage this accident. Chand had already paid Rs 5.50 of the promised amount to Mukesh.

During the investigation, police analyzed the CCTV footage to ascertain that it was a deliberate accident. The insurance in the name of the lady also raised suspicion. It led to the arrest of five persons including the husband and the hired killer.
