German Tourist Rape Convict & Ex-DGP’s Son Bitti Hottra Mohanty Dies of Cancer

Bhubaneswar: Bitti Hottra Mohanty, the son of Odisha’s former DGP (prison), Bidya Bhusan Mohanty, who was convicted for raping a German tourist in Rajasthan in 2006 died of cancer at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Bitti Hotra was suffering from stomach cancer. He passed away at around 12 am on Monday.

Bitti Hotra was convicted in the rape case of a German tourist in Alwar, Rajasthan by fast track court within 15 days of his arrest on April 12, 2006.

He jumped parole and absconded and was later arrested in Kerala in 2013, while trying to get a bank job at Thiruvanthapuram using forged documents.
