Guidelines for use of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles Revised

New Delhi: Ministry of Power issues amendment in the revised consolidated guidelines and standards for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

Power Ministry said a committee under Central Electricity Authority will recommend to the State Government the ceiling limit of service charges to be levied. The Committee will also recommend the time of a day rate for service charges as well as the discount to be given for charging during solar hours.

As per the new guidelines, owners may charge their EVs at their residences and office using their electrical connections. Public charging stations will be set up in various cities. The public charging stations will be provided with connectivity within seven days in metropolitan cities, 15 days in other municipal areas, and 30 days in rural areas.

At least one charging station will be available in a grid of 3 km. One charging station will be set up every 25 km on both sides of the highways.
