I Killed My Husband to get Rid of His Torture: Deceased’s Wife of Khordha Murder Case

Khordha: Khordha police have arrested three people including the wife of the deceased, whose body was found stuffed in a trolley bag. Khordha SP Siddharth Kataria revealed that the wife of the deceased was the mastermind of the crime who murdered her husband to get rid of torture.

The accused was identified as Mili. She murdered her husband Manorajan Mohapatra with the help of her cousin brother and his associate.

“The motive of the murder is torture meted out to Mili by her husband. There were 6-7 cases against the deceased including NBW (non-bailable warrant). He used to drink frequently and torture his wife. It prompted her to take revenge and plot the murder,” SP Kataria said.

“As per the inquest, Manoranjan was murdered by strangulation with the help of a rope. The post-mortem report will divulge more details. The primary spot of the crime was Chandeswar where the couple used to live while the second spot is Haripur forest,” SP Kataria added.

The SP also revealed that she purchased a new trolley bag to dispose of the body in the forest to hide the crime. The police took the accused to the primary as well as secondary crime spots and recreated the crime scene.

It is pertinent to mention that the body of the deceased was found stuffed in a trolley bag in Haripur forest under Nachuni police jurisdiction in Khordha district on Sunday.
