IMD Issues Yellow Warning For Several Odisha Districts Today

Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts rain and thunderstorm in several districts in Odisha on June 1.

The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thunderstorm at a few places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi and Nabarangapur on June 1.

Lightning and thunderstorm are likely in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, and Khordha districts where the wind speed will be between 30 and 40 kmph.

Moreover, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind are very likely to occur at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Khurda, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, and Mayurbhanj districts today, the IMD forecasted.
