IMD Predicts Rain & Thunderstorm in All Districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological department in Bhubaneswar has predicted moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning and Gusty surface winds over the districts of Odisha within the next five days.

Due to the likely interaction of the middle tropospheric westerly trough with lower-level easterly, and moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal, Meteorological conditions becoming favourable for moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning, gusty surface wind and scattered rainfall to fairly
widespread rainfall over the districts of Odisha within the next 5 days.

IMD has advised people to keep watch on the weather and take safe shelter during thunderstorm activity to protect from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas. Also, harvesting of Rabi crops is advised to regulate judicially.

Day 1: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Boudh and dry weather over rest districts of Odisha.

Day 2: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Nuapada and dry weather over rest districts of Odisha.

Day 3: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi and at isolated places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 4: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Boudh, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and at isolated places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 5: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.
