IND Vs BAN: Gill, Pujara Score Tons As India Set 513-Run Target For Home Team

Chattogram: Sublime centuries from Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara helped India set Bangladesh a target of 513 in the first Test at Chattogram.

India were declared at 258/2 in the second innings. The opening duo of KL Rahul (23) and Shubman Gill put on a 70-run partnership. Gill and Pujara then combined and forged another superb partnership of 113 runs.

Gill completed his first Test hundred in style, launching Mehidy Hasan over Long on for a boundary. After the departure of Gill, Pujara and Virat Kohli (19*) came together to put on an unbeaten stand of 75 runs for the third wicket.

Pujara got to his 19th Test century with a flick off Taijul Islam. This was also Pujara’s fastest century in Tests.

Bangladesh ended the day at 42/0, and still need 471 runs for a win.

Najmul Hossain Shanto (25 batting) and Zakir Hasan (17 batting) have given an improved account of themselves in Bangladesh’s second essay.

For the second day in succession, Bangladesh were completely outplayed as Kuldeep Yadav’s career-best 5 for 40 helped India dismiss the hosts for a paltry 150 in just 55.5 overs.
