Indian Mountaineer Rescued from Mt Everest Dies

An Indian climber, Banshi Lal (46), who was rescued from Everest died in hospital, declared Nepal’s tourism department on Tuesday.

Banshi Lal was rescued from the Mt Everest last week. He was admitted to a hospital in Kathmandu, where he passed away on Monday.

With this death, the number of fatalities this season at Mt Everest rose to eight.

A British climber and two Nepali guides are among the eight, who are missing but presumed dead.

In 2023’s Mt Everest climbing season, there were 18 deaths.
