Indigo Flight Passenger Tries to Remove Cover of Emergency Exit in Mid-Air

New Delhi: A passenger named Paranav Raut was booked for trying to remove the cover of the emergency exit of aircraft while the Nagpur-Mumbai Indigo flight was in mid-air approaching landing.

Pranav Raut was travelling from Nagpur to Mumbai on IndiGo flight 6E-5274.  The crew on board alerted the captain and the passenger was “appropriately cautioned”, the airline said in a statement.

IndiGo claimed there was no compromise on the safe operation of the flight, and an FIR has been filed against the passenger for unauthorised tampering of the emergency exit.

The Mumbai airport police officials registered a case against Raut under section 336 of the IPC for endangering life and personal safety of others and under the Aircraft Act, 1937.
