IndiGo Airlines Stops Collecting Fuel Charges on Tickets

New Delhi: IndiGo Airlines has stopped collecting fuel charges on tickets. The airlines revoked the fuel surcharge on tickets almost three months after introducing the levy because of the increase in jet fuel prices.

The fuel charge introduced by the airline in October 2023 was removed with effect from Thursday. The fuel charge was applicable on the airline’s domestic and international routes.

According to a statement from the airline, the fuel charge was withdrawn due to the recent reduction in ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) prices.

“As ATF prices are dynamic, we will continue to adjust our fares and components thereof, to respond to any change in prices or market conditions,” IndiGo said in a statement.
