2 Held for Drunken Unruly Behaviour Onboard Dubai-Mumbai Flight

Mumbai: Two passengers travelling in a Dubai-Mumbai IndiGo flight were arrested for allegedly abusing the crew and co-passengers in an inebriated condition while the flight was in midair. Both were arrested when the plane landed in Mumbai on Wednesday. They were granted bail by a Mumbai court.

The two accused hailed from Nalasopara in Palghar and Kolhapur. They were returning home after serving in the Gulf for around a year. To celebrate their return journey they consumed liquor bought from a duty-free shop.

When co-passengers complained about their drunken unruly behavior, both men started to abuse and misbehave with the crew that intervened. One of them was drinking while walking down the aisle. The crew took away their bottles, said IndiGo sources.

This is the seventh incident this year when a case has been filed for the unruly behaviour of any air passenger.

On March 11, a man was arrested for smoking in the lavatory and trying to open the emergency exit of a London-Mumbai flight.
