Rs 40 Cr Worth Cocaine Seized from 21-Year-Old Thai Woman at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai: Personnel of the Directorate of Revenue (DRI) nabbed a 21-year-old Thai woman at Mumbai Airport on Friday while she was attempting to smuggle Ts 40 crore worth of cocaine into India.

Acting on intelligence reports, the DRI rounded up the woman when she reached the Mumbai airport from Addis Ababa.

Several packets of white powder were found hidden inside her trolley bag. Testing revealed that the white powder was cocaine. The seized cocaine was estimated to be worth Rs 40 crore in the international market.

The Thai woman was arrested and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
