Rs 20 Cr Worth Cocaine Seized from Sierra Leone Woman at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai: A woman from Sierra Leone was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Sunday at the Mumbai airport following the seizure of 1,979 grams of cocaine worth Rs 19.79 crore from her possession.

The woman had reached Mumbai from the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi.

The DRI officials found white powder concealed in her shoes, moisturiser bottle, shampoo bottle etc. The white powder was tested to be cocaine.

Following the seizure of 1,979 grams of cocaine worth Rs 19.79 crore, she was arrested and was remanded to judicial custody. Further probe into the smuggling network is underway.

Last Wednesday, the DRI apprehended two female passengers of Indonesian and Thai nationality, from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, along with 9.83 kg of cocaine.
