Mumbai: Eleven Nigerian nationals were arrested in Navi Mumbai for allegedly running a drug racket. Cocaine and other narcotics worth Rs 1.61 crore were seized from the possession of the arrested Nigerians.
Acting on an intelligence report that some Nigerian nationals residing at Koprigaon in Navi Mumbai’s Vashi were running a drug racket, a team of Mumbai police’s Anti Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) conducted a raid at a flat on Friday night and seized drugs from the place.
Eleven Nigerian nationals in the age group of 30 to 50 were arrested for their involvement in the racket.
The seized drugs was mostly cocaine. The stock also included mephedrone and MDMA. The collective value of the drugs is Rs Rs 1.61 crore.
Mobile phones and other equipment worth around Rs 25 lakh were also seized from the accused.
