Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar experienced the hottest day this summer on Saturday as the temperature reached 44.6°C by 2:30 pm making it the hottest place in Odisha.
A red alert for heat wave has been issued for the twin city.
On Saturday, five places in Odisha experienced temperatures above 42 °C:
Bhubaneswar: 43.6 °C
Jharsuguda: 43.6 °C
Sambalpur: 42.1°C
Rourkela: 42.5°C
Chandbali: 42.4°C
The Meteorological Center here in Bhubaneswar has warned of severe heatwave in Odisha for five days till May 4. The day temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 4 degrees during the period.
