Mumbai: Two pistols, three magazines and 13 bullets were recovered by the Mumbai police’s crime branch from the Tapi river in Gujarat during a search operation to seize the weapons allegedly used in the firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence.

The search operation began in the Tapi river in Surat on Monday in the presence of 12 Mumbai Crime Branch officials including ‘encounter specialist’ senior police inspector Daya Nayak. The search was taken up with the help of scuba divers.

The two arrested accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), allegedly fired outside 58-year-old Khan’s house at the Galaxy Apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai on April 14.

After escaping from the spot on a bike, they threw the weapon into the Tapi river from a railway bridge while they were on way to Bhuj in a train after reaching Surat by road from Mumbai.
