Cop On Poll Duty Kills Self With Service Rifle in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: A tragic incident unfolded during the ongoing polling in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district, as a jawan from the Madhya Pradesh Special Armed Force reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with his service rifle. The unfortunate event occurred at approximately 9:30 am in Kudedadar village, under the jurisdiction of Piparchhedi police station.

The deceased, identified as Head Constable Jiyalal Pawar, was stationed at a government school along with other security personnel assigned to poll duty. Despite not being actively engaged in polling activities, Pawar, a member of Batallion no. 34 of the MP Special Armed Force, succumbed to self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Upon receiving information, local authorities secured the area and arranged for the body to be transferred for postmortem examination. No suicide note was discovered at the scene, leaving authorities to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
