INDvsAus: India 321/7 at Stumps, Leads Australia by 144 Runs

Nagpur: Rohit Sharma’s 120, along with 66 and 52 from Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, helped India continue their dominance on the second day as well.

India were 321 for 7 at stumps in their first innings, with a lead of 144 runs over the guests in the first test of the four-match series of the Border Gavaskar Trophy tournament in Nagpur.

On Thursday, Australia skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first. Jadeja’s five-wicket haul helped India bundle out the guests for 177.

This was his ninth Test century and eighth at home and first as a captain since he took over the responsibility from Virat Kohli last year.

With that, he joined Babar Azam, Faf du Plessis and Tillakaratne Dilshan to become the fourth batter to score centuries across formats as a captain.

Rohit has kept India in the driver’s seat with his 9th Test century as Ravindra Jadeja holds the other end tight.

India went seven down after Nathan Lyon cleaned up Suryakumar Yadav but the duo of Rohit and Jadeja kept the hosts going.
