Orissa High Court Passes Stay Order on Police SI Recruitment

Cuttack: Orissa High Court on Friday has passed an interim stay order on the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) advertisement issued in 2021.

The High Court passed the order hearing a petition filed by job applicants against the Odisha government’s notice issued on January 15, 2022, barring government job applicants from availing of the age relaxation.

The court also issued a notice to the State government asking why the recruitment notice should not be quashed.

Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) invited applications for 474 Sub-Inspector posts in 2021. Though many aspirants had applied for the job, the recruitment process could not make any progress for the next two years due to the Covid restrictions.

The court will hear the matter on March 9.
