Officials say affected families are being shifted to a safer place and experts have been sent to the village to ascertain the cause of the soil shifting – which has led to cracks, reported NDTV.

There are around 50 houses in the Nai Basti village.

As per experts, factors like the construction of roads, and seepage of water may be the reason behind the sudden land subsidence in this Himalayan village.
