Jailed AAP Leader Satyendra Jain Hospitalized After Falling in Toilet; Has lost 35 Kg

New Delhi: Delhi’s former Health Minister Satyendar Jain was admitted to hospital on Thursday after he collapsed in the bathroom of Tihar Jail. He is in judicial custody in the jail since 2022 on money laundering charges.

On Monday, Jain was examined at Safdarjung Hospital for a spinal injury that he had sustained earlier from another fall in the jail’s bathroom. The AAP has stated that the former minister, who has lost nearly 35 kg since his arrest, is suffering from sleep apnoea and needs a BiPAP machine while sleeping.

AAP leaders expressed concern over his health and accused the BJP of trying to “kill him”.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the founder of the Aam Aadmi Party, posted the photo on Twitter that showed a frail-looking Mr Jain sitting in a chair at the hospital with two police officers standing nearby.

The Enforcement Directorate, arrested Jain in May last year for allegedly laundering money through shell companies and buying land with illegal funds.
