J&K’s Awantipora Encounter: One More Terrorist Killed

Srinagar: Another terrorist was shot dead by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora, a few hours after a terrorist involved in the murder of a Kashmiri Pandit was slain in the same area on Tuesday. Security personnel seized incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition from the spot.

The terrorist killed earlier was identified as Aqib Mushtaq Bhat. He was among the assailants who shot dead a 40-year-old Kashmiri Pandit bank guard in Pulwama on Sunday.

To nab the culprits of this targeted killing, security forces conducted a search operation in the area. The search operation turned into an encounter on Tuesday morning after the terrorists hiding in a house in the area opened fire.

Two security personnel, NK Hemraj, and CT Pawan were injured in the encounter. They were admitted to the 92 base hospital for medical treatment.
