K Kavitha’s Day-Long Hunger Strike in Delhi for Women’s Reservation Bill

New Delhi: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC and Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha on Friday sat on a day-long hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the current Budget session of Parliament.

Leaders of several political parties and organizations also took part in this demonstration by Kavitha. CPI (M) General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury, also participated in the protest.

In her speech, Kavitha said Women’s Reservation Bill will be a major catalyst in the development of the nation. She requested the central government to introduce the Bill in Parliament as soon as possible.

She also thanked the BRS party leaders and cadre for extending their support to this protest.

 

The protest hunger strike will also witness cultural programs like street plays and songs. Earlier on Thursday said that 18 parties have confirmed their participation in the protest.

Kavitha is under the Enforcement Directorate (ED) scanner in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. Kavitha arrived in Delhi on Thursday and said that she will be appearing before the Enforcement Directorate on March 11.
