Karnataka RSS Activist Arrested for Posting Cartoon of Muslim Women as ‘Baby-Making Factories’

Bengaluru: A RSS activist from Karnataka’s Raichur was arrested for posting a cartoon on his WhatsApp status depicting Muslim women as ‘baby-making factory’.

The arrested RSS worker is Raju Thumbak, from Lingasugur town of Raichur. The cartoon put up by him as WhatsApp status led to widespread protests from the Muslim community. Members of the community filed a police complaint seeking his arrest.

Thumbak was arrested late on Thursday night. He was sent to judicial custody as his bail plea was rejected by the magistrate.

Police have booked him under sections 295 (A) (intended to outrage religious feelings) and 505 (1) (c) (with intent to incite, or which is likely to incite, any class or community of persons to commit any offence against any other class or community) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
