Professor Brings Up Molestation Charge Against Gurugram Univ Dean

New Delhi: An Assistant Professor at Haryana’s Gurugram University alleged that the Dean of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dhirendra Kaushik, had molested her and also threatened her. The professor alleged that the Dean passed lewd remarks at her that included statements like “You will look sexier in western dresses”, “Meet me at a hotel when your husband is not around”, etc.

According to her, Dhirendra often commented on her body in an “unprofessional” manner.

The professor filed an FIR at the Women Police Station in Gurugram. Following it a case was lodged under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

IN her FIR she has described an incident from April 28, when the Dean allegedly touched her private parts and started molesting her inside a room on the university premises. She added that Dhirender threatened her by saying that he will get her terminated from her post. In the FIR, the professor alleged that the Dean had told her that the university’s VC and Registrar would not take any actions against him as he has a “lot of connections”.
