Kidnapping Attempt; Man dies After Jumping out from Moving Car in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A man put his life at stake while trying to escape from the clutches of his kidnappers in Bhubaneswar. He jumped out of a moving car to save himself. But he succumbed to the injuries. This shocking incident was reported from the Vani Vihar area under Saheed Nagar police station limits of the capital city on Thursday night.

According to police sources, the deceased was identified as Bichitra Palei. He was a resident of Gadakana on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

Initial reports hint that some youths including a female kidnapped Bichitra Palei in a car. To escape from the hands of kidnappers, he preferred to jump out of the moving car main gate of Vani Vihar campus. The kidnappers also got down to overpower him on the busy road. They tried to drag him into their car.

But the locals present at the spot intervened. He was freed from the clutches of the kidnappers. Two kidnappers overpowered by the locals were handed over to police.

Injured Bichitra Palei was admitted to Capital Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries caused by his jump from the moving car.

According to police sources, the initial investigation hints that this incident was related to private money lending. To deceased was kidnapped by the collection agents of some money lender as he had delayed loan repayment. The two kidnappers detained by police are being interrogated to find out the reason behind the whole incident and the mastermind behind it.
