Leopard Skin Seized in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj District; 8 Arrested

Mayurbhanj: A leopard skin was seized while dealing by the district Police and forest department in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The incident happened in a local eatery in Kanimahuli of Bangriposi forest area in Mayurbhanj.

Police and the forest department conducted a joint raid on the eatery while the deal was being finalised. They arrested eight individuals in this connection.

According to reports, the buyers of the leopard skin are absconding. The buyers are believed to be members of the West Bengal mafia.

The deal was taking place in a dhaba on National Highway 49. Reportedly, the deal was finalised at Rs 7Lakhs, and the skin was being handed over to the buyer when the team cracked down on the dealers.

The leopard skin is estimated to be four to five months old.
