Man Arrested for Celebrating Gangster Chhota Rajan’s Birthday

Mumbai: A man was arrested by Mumbai Police for allegedly celebrating jailed gangster Chhota Rajan’s birthday in the Chembur area. According to police sources, the birthday celebration of the gangster was organized on Saturday night. Police came to know about it when its video clip became viral on social media. Police immediately arrested the organizer of the birthday celebration of Chhota Rajan.

The arrested man has past criminal record. He was arrested under Indian Penal Code sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to riot) and 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) and other offences.

But the arrested man was later released on bail by a local court.

The gangster Chhota Rajan, whose birthday was celebrated by this man, was deported to India from Bali in Indonesia in 2015. He is now lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail. He is convicted in the murder case of a journalist. Several other cases are pending against him.
