Maoists Murder Man Alleging Him to Be Police Informer in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: Maoists allegedly murdered a person alleging him to be a police informer at Khalepara village under Raighar police station of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Chandan Mallick (42) of the same village.

According to reports, around 25 Maoists and their supporters were involved in this killing. They reached the house of the victim at around 9 PM. Chandan was dragged out of his house to a nearby field, where he was tied up and beaten ruthlessly.

Later the ultras strangled Chandan with a rope to kill him on the spot. Before escaping, the members of the outlawed leftist outfit left some posters at the spot. Through these posters, the red vagrants claimed that Nabarangpur SP, Chhattisgarh Police, and Intelligence Department were responsible for the death of the victim.

The Maoist posters alleged that Chandan was a police informer who was informing police about their movement and presence for which he was earlier warned at a ‘Jan Adalat’. As he continued to help the police despite the warning, he was given death sentence, the poster read.
