Marriage Trip Turns Last Journey; 6 Killed & 22 Injured

Amaravati: All joys related to marriage were washed away when a tractor carrying a marriage party overturned and fell into a ditch at late night in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. At least six persons died and 22 others were injured in this accident.

This accident occurred near Lakshmaiah Ooru village of Chittoor district.

The deceased included two women, two children, and the driver of the tractor. Receiving information, police rushed to the spot to take up rescue operation with the help of locals.

The injured have been admitted to hospitals at Chittoor, Tirupati, and Vellore.
The marriage party from Balijapalle village was on its way to Jettipalle village along with the bridegroom. The marriage ceremony was to be held on Thursday morning.  As per the survivors, reckless fast driving led to this accident.
