Maruti Suzuki Recalls 17,632 cars for Faulty Airbag Controller

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has recalled 17,362 vehicles due to suspicion of faulty airbag controllers in them. The recalled cars include Grand Vitara, Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, and Baleno.

Through a notification, Maruti Suzuki has stated that the purpose of the recall is to inspect and, if necessary, replace the airbag controller in these vehicles for free.

According to company sources, the car models released between December 8, 2022, and January 12, 2023 are being recalled. Faulty airbag controllers were discovered in them.

It is feared that due to the discovered fault airbag may not operate in the event of a collision.

Customers of the faulty cars have been advised by Maruti Suzuki not to use or drive the vehicle until the damaged part has been replaced.

Affected vehicle owners will receive communication from Maruti Suzuki authorised workshops for immediate attention, the company said.
