‘Exercise utmost caution’ External Affairs Advisory for Indian Nationals in Canada

New Delhi: The Diplomatic face-off between India and Canada is escalating day by day. Amid growing anti-India activities and politically-motivated hate crimes and criminal violence in Canada Indian External Affairs Ministry on Wednesday issued an advisory for Indian nationals and students in Canada urging them to exercise utmost caution in the view of “growing anti-India activities and politically-condoned hate crimes and violence in Canada”.

After an allegation by the Canadian Prime Minister of the “potential” involvement of Indian agents in the alleged killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the relationship between the two countries is at risk. In between threats have particularly targeted Indian diplomats and sections of the Indian community who oppose the anti-India agenda.

Indian nationals are therefore advised to avoid travelling to regions and potential venues in Canada that have seen such incidents”: Ministry of External Affairs.
