Minor Boy Dies After Falling Into Open Well In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A minor boy died after falling into an open well in the Kamakshanagar area in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district late on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Shubham Naik, a 12-year-old son of Biranchi Naik of Boluu village under Tumusinga police station limits.

According to reports, the incident took place while the Biranchi was returning home with his family after watching a Jatra show late Sunday night, Shubham stopped on the way to answer nature’s call. In the darkness, he stepped into an open well and died due to drowning.

On being informed, police personnel reached the spot, seized the dead body, and sent it to Kamakshanagar Medical Center for autopsy.

A pall of gloom descended on his uncle’s village following the incident.
