Miscreants Barge into Women’s Hostel in Bhubaneswar, Create Ruckus; 4 Arrested

Bhubaneswar: A group of miscreants forcefully entered a women’s hostel in Bhubaneswar on Friday night, misbehaved with the inmates, created a ruckus, and damaged furniture. Bhubaneswar police have arrested four persons in relation to this incident.

The incident took place in the Nayapalli area of the capital city. The whole issue is said to have started from the passing of lewd comments by some youths at some girls. When the girls protested, a group of five miscreants broke into the said ladies’ hostel, misbehaved with the inmates, and vandalized its premises. As per reports, furniture, TV, and other articles were damaged by the youths.

Police identified four of these persons from the CCTV footage and arrested them. A case has been registered at the Nayapali police station in this regard.

This incident came up at a time when the Commissionerate Police launched ‘safe city drive’.
