Mishap During Illegal Mining Claims Lives of 3 Including a Child in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: At least three persons including a child were killed when a coal mine caved in during illegal mining in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district on Friday. Several others are feared to be trapped. Rescue operations continue to save their lives, reported India Today.

As many as five people sustained serious injuries. They were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

According to sources, a large number of people had illegally entered the tunnel of a mine to collect coal. All of a sudden the roof of the mine collapsed on them. This illegal mining was being carried out at ATDev Prabha Outsourcing company’s mining site.

Locals rushed to the spot to rescue the persons trapped under the debris. But three persons including a child were killed.

Police and CISF teams have started the investigation.
