Mysterious Underground Rumble Panics Inhabitants of Latur

Latur: While panic about the earthquake has gripped the whole world, inhabitants of Latur in Maharashtra were panicked by an alleged mysterious rumbling sound coming from underground on Wednesday.  A major earthquake hit Latur region in 1993 killing 10,000 people. So, the people of this region are too panicky about earthquakes.

This mysterious underground sound reportedly heard in Maharashtra’s Latur city on Wednesday generated earthquake rumours. As per locals, the mysterious rumbling sound was heard between 10.30 AM and 10.45 AM on Wednesday near Vivekanand Chowk of Latur.

But according to government sources, there were no reports of any seismic activity in the region at that time. Several people called up the Latur district administration about this rumbling sound. The district disaster management department immediately swung into action but found that earthquake measuring centres in Latur city, as well as Aurad Shahajni and Ashiv in the district did not record any seismic activity.

As per reports, a similar rumbling sound from underground was reported on February 4 this year from Nitoor-Dangewadi area of Nilanga tehsil in the district.

Such sounds were heard in Hasori, Killari, and surrounding areas of the Latur district thrice in September 2022.

It may be noted that the recent major earthquake in Turkey and Syria has killed over 41,000 people and injured millions.
