Mystery of Frightening Loud Sound Deepens After IMD’s Revelation

Bhubaneswar: A mysterious loud sound caused panic in Jajpur, Bhadrak and parts of Keonjhar district of Odisha on November 23. Meanwhile, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) confirmed that it was not an earthquake.

According to the National Centre of Seismology, only one earthquake was reported on Wednesday morning. But it was reported from Maharastra. A senior weather scientist told this to the news agency PTI.

But till now the real reason behind the loud noise that was heard between 10.55 am and 11 am has not been ascertained. This sudden loud sound had frightened people, who thought it was an earthquake. But this speculation has been eradicated by the statement from the IMD official.

It is feared that the loud boom that was heard may have occurred due to an explosion or sonic boom.  Some feel it may have been a major blast in some mining area. But the blast location has not been identified.

Some suspect some missile test at APJ Abdul Kalam Island may have caused the loud sound. No one felt any tremor when they heard the sound.

So, the mystery related to this loud sound remains as it was.
