Furore Over Farmers’ Issues, Assembly Adjourned Till 4 pm

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Assembly was adjourned till 4 pm due to chaos related to farmers’ issues.

The chaos took place soon after House assembled on the second day of the Winter Session of the state assembly.

Members of both ruling and opposition parties created obstructions in the proceedings of the House over the issue.

Initially, Speaker Bikram Kesahri Arukha adjourned the assembly for 30 minutes. Later due to an increase in pandemonium, he adjourned the House till 4 pm.

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) gave an Adjournment Motion on Gop Zilla Parishad Member Dharmendra Sahoo’s suicide case for discussion in the State Assembly.  The discussion will not be discussed today because of adjournment.

On the first day, the House will convene at 11 AM. The opposition – BJP and Congress discussed with the state government a variety of problems, including the recent Archana Nag honeytrap case, farmers’ rights, and mandi “mismanagement” issues.
