Naba Das Murder Case: Accused Gopal Das Shifted to Choudwar Jail

Bhubaneswar: The prime accused of the Naba Das Murder case, ASI Gopal Das has been shifted to Choudwar Jail from Jharsuguda jail with tight security. He was shifted for security reasons.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Jharsuguda JMFC court ordered Crime Branch to shift Gopal Das to Choudwar jail in Odisha’s Cuttack.

Gopal was brought back to Jharsuguda from Gandhinagar via Raipur amid tight security after the completion of his polygraph and narco tests.

It is pertinent to be mentioned here that Das’ third phase remand period is ending today. At present, he is lodged at the Airport police station located at Talapatia.

In the Gandhinagar laboratory, during the narco test, the accused Gopal Das was administered drugs like sodium pentothal, scopolamine, and sodium amytal. These drugs took him to a hypnotic state when he is more likely to disclose information, which would usually not be revealed in the conscious state.

Notably, Naba Das was allegedly shot by Gopal Das near Gandhi Chhak at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on January 29.

Through it, the exact reason behind the murder of Odisha health minister Naba Das as well as the possibility of other conspirators behind may have been extracted from him.

Earlier his polygraph or lie detector test was also done in Gandhinagar. A Jharsuguda court had given permission for polygraph and narco-analysis tests of the accused. Gopal Das had also consented to the tests.
