Odisha EOW Busts APP-Based Financial Scam; Freezes Rs 1.22 Cr

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch has busted a app based financial scam and froze a total amount of Rs 1.22 crore of the online trading App ‘Join Trade’ for duping credulous investors on the pretext of higher returns.

According to reports, the online trading app used to dupe investors with morphed pictures of leading Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar and Manish Paul, in order to mislead and instil trust in the public.

As per EOW, the fraudulent app claims to be a professional financial trading and wealth management platform with different investment schemes with minimal deposits of Rs 100-20,000

The fraudulent app by the name Join Trade is downloadable in the Google Play store and has 1 Lakh Plus downloads, the EOW informed.
