Odisha to Include 10 More GPs in SETU Scheme for Swabhiman Anchal

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Minister has directed to add 10 more gram panchayats in cut-off Swabhiman Anchal to the Socio-Economic Transformation and Upliftment (SETU) scheme.

The CM has also increased the allocation amount for the scheme by two-fold, from Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore.

The move comes following a field visit by 5T Secretary VK Pandian and other senior officials to Chitrakonda Block in Malkangiri district on March 28 this year.

The SETU scheme is being executed for the social and economic development of people residing in Swabhiman Anchal since 2018.

The 10 new gram panchayats that will be included in the scheme are Andrapalli, Panasput, Jodamba, Raligada, Papermetla, Badapada, Gajalmamudi, Jantri, Dhuliput, and Nakamamudi.

The scheme has already been successful in connecting nine cut-off gram panchayats of Chitrakonda Block with the rest of the district through the Gurupriya Setu, a bridge constructed over the Gurupriya River.
