Orissa HC Rejects Revised Merit List for MBBS/BDS Admission

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court rejected the revised merit list of candidates selected for admission in MBBS/BDS course for 2022-23 through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), on Thursday.

A bench of Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Justice Gourishankar Satpathy during the hearing of a petition filed by Abhishek Bhabani Panda, stated that such type of merit list is not accepted by law.

The revised merit list is invalid and admission will be done as per the first merit list released on October 18, the bench said.

The High Court also directed to conduct the admissions keeping in mind the privileges of specially-abled candidates.

According to reports, the petitioner was in fifth place on the list. However, in the revised list his rank changed to 33rd place. The candidate challenged the revised list suspecting he might not get admission in the physically-challenged quota.
