Out-of-Control Chinese Rocket Likely to Crash on Earth

A massive out-of-control Chinese rocket booster is headed towards the earth’s surface on Friday. It is feared that pieces of this giant space vehicle may crash on earth. Ironically, Chinese rockets have raised similar fear for the fourth time in two years.

Several airports in Spain have closed down their airspace because of this out-of-control Chinese rocket.

The Chinese rocket booster that is falling is the large core stage of the Long March 5B rocket launched on October 31. It transported an experimental laboratory module to space to dock it with China’s space station, Tiangong.

The core of the Long March 5B is about 33 meters long and weighs 22 metric tons. So, it is feared that some large pieces of its debris may hit somewhere on Earth. Debris from the first launch of the Long March 5B booster crashed on the Ivory Coast in May 2020. It had damaged some buildings in this West African nation. Debris from its second space venture had fallen harmlessly in the Indian Ocean. Debris from its third space voyage had fallen into the sea near the Philippines.
