PNB Manager Arrested for Siphoning Over Rs 12 Cr in Kerala

Kozhikode: A senior manager posted at the Kozhikode Link Road Branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) was found to have siphoned off Rs 12.68 crore rupees illegally. He was arrested by the Crime Branch wing of the Kerala Police on Wednesday.

The arrested bank manager is Rijil M P. Around a week back Kozhikode Principal Sessions Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

Crime Branch police tracked him down from one of his relative’s house at Chathamangalam.

This bank manager has allegedly siphoned Rs 12.68 crore from different accounts of Kozhikode Link Road Branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB). The fraud was done from nine accounts of private individuals and eight accounts of the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation.  Rigil transferred the money to his own account as well as to his father’s account. The PNB  has suspended Rijil from service.
